 A CHIP ODYSSEY - WEBINAR E PROIEZIONE PUBBLICA

Il *31 marzo 2026* il Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche e Internazionali
dell'Università di Siena (*Polo Mattioli, Aula Cardini, ore 14.30*) ospita
la proiezione pubblica del documentario *"A Chip Odyssey" (2025) di Hsiao
Chu-Chen*, che ricostruisce la storia dell'industria dei semiconduttori a
Taiwan, attualmente il paese responsabile del 25% della produzione mondiale
di microchip e del 90% di quella dei chip logici più avanzati.
La proiezione del documentario sarà introdotta da un* webinar* (diretta
streaming su *YouTube - canale Eventi Mattioli*) cui parteciperanno
specialisti del settore:
*Tain-Jy Chen* (Taipei School of Economics, TSE), co-autore del volume
"*Taiwan's
Semiconductor Miracle*" (Routledge 2026); *Ethan Ting* (Industrial
Technology Research Institute, ITRI) e *Ling-Ming Huang* (Chung Shan
Medical University).
L'iniziativa è organizzata dal *Taiwan Studies Center Siena (TSMC)*, con il
supporto dell'*Ufficio di Rappresentanza di Taipei in Italia*.

Tutti gli interessati sono invitati a partecipare. *La visione del
documentario è riservata al solo pubblico in aula*.

A CHIP ODYSSEY - WEBINAR AND PUBLIC SCREENING

On* March 31, 2026*, the Department of Political and International
Sciences, University of Siena (*Polo Mattioli, Aula Cardini, 2:30 PM*) will
host a public screening of the documentary* “A Chip Odyssey” (2025) by
Hsiao Chu-Chen*, which traces the history of the semiconductor industry in
Taiwan, currently the country responsible for 25% of global microchip
production and 90% of the most advanced logic chips.

The screening of the documentary will be preceded by a *webinar* (streaming
on *YouTube channel Eventi Mattioli*) featuring leading experts in the
field:
*Tain-Jy Chen* (Taipei School of Economics, TSE), co-author of the
volume *“Taiwan’s
Semiconductor Miracle”* (Routledge, 2026);* Ethan Ting* (Industrial
Technology Research Institute, ITRI); and *Ling-Ming Huang* (Chung Shan
Medical University).

The initiative is organized by the *Taiwan Studies Center Siena (TSMC)*,
with the support of the *Taipei Representative Office in Italy*.

All interested parties are invited to attend. *The documentary screening is
reserved for attendees in the room. *
